» Is the word "pickup" seen as rude? as in "pickup a woman"?
pickup is a very natural process and its end result is the reason we are here. however is the word "pickup" rude and derogatory? or are most people indifferent on its use? the reason I ask is because I am writing a book on the subject. thanks in advance!I'd say so yeah, for someone like me who isn't into the BS, if a guy said anything about picking me up I'd be offended at the term. Basically, it's like when a man goes to pick up a woman it's for a fling, or just for a one nighter. Someone who is looking for something special, something long-term usually wouldn't be all, "So I picked her up...", yanno? It just lacks emotion and sincerity. It's what guys do in bars or clubs looking for someone to tak...... - 2009-07-04

How is gas delivered through pipelines, i.e., a description of compression, etc? How does the quality/physical characteristics of the gas affect pipeline construction, i.e., diameter of pipeline? How is gas measured as it is delivered by pipeline?Hi brad31370, I found the website presented by NaturalGas.org to be detailed and comprehensive but at the same time understandable to the lay person - it is an excellent site and I have referred you to several of their pages below. » Catholics Rosary, Do you pray "Saint Michaels Prayer" after the "Hail Mary"?
I'm not entirely sure what you're asking. After each decade, we say the "Glory be," and most people add the Fatima prayer after that: "Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of Hell. Lead all souls to Heaven, especially those in most need of Thy mercy." That prayer was taught to the children at Fatima by the Angel of the Lord. If someone also adds the "Prayer of St. Michael," it would probably be said before or after the rest of the Rosary. No, but I do pray it after Mass and before going to sleep each night.yes. I love that prayer. I feel like a groupie to St Michael...... - 2009-07-04
» Specific Directory Search
Hello There, I have been reading things regarding this issue throughout the forum, and people have instructed how you can make phpdig search "one directory only" and exclude all other directories. HOWEVER, what if i have a bit site with say 5 sections. I want phpdig to be able to search ALL these directories (but at the command of the visitor only). Lets say we have visitor 1 who wants to search section 3 ONLY, can I implement an option that allows him to do so? And les say visitor 2 wants to search section 5 only, and visitor 3 wants to search section 1 only. Can I implement something like this on my website? I was thinking of giving users the option to "select from a pull down menu" which section they want to search? Is th...... - 2009-07-04

Alright so I had XBMC as my main dash, and I went to update it, but as I was updating it, the connection got goofy and stopped, so as it turns out XBMC is all not there. So when I turn on my Xbox with no commercial game in it, it turns on my custom Yellow power light and my fan settings from XBMC, but all I get is a black screen! How can I fix this?? Its a soft mod by the way.try booting into a disc with ftp support like AID evox, unleashx or slayers. then you can ftp the files back over. Or you could put the game you used to softmod it and reinstall the softmod and dashWell the thing is, none of my bootdiscs work. I need some information about the psychology of people who attend state and county fairs in the U.S. I have found many sataistics on fairs, their attractions, and their attendees, but almost zero social commentary on what fairs mean to people - for example, what is the cultural relevance of fairs to people these days? Also, is overall attendance at state/county fairs declining, or perhaps rising and why? Maybe due to our post 9/11 desire for Americana/patriotism? Thank you!Hello, rex8-ga! Taken after sunset and out to sea where there were very dark clouds. At the same time the sky above me was still quite light with a clear sky - this gave the sea a beautiful quality of light. I hope that I have captured something of this in this very simple composition of the sea/sky/island. Ever since upgrading to vbulletin 3.6.0 my mass email is having problems. It takes several hours to get through 8400 email addresses, and then it just quits (there's about 10000 addresses in total). I've searched the vbulletin forums and found others having similar problems. Any suggestions for a fix?I haven't heard of other problems like this. Does it work when you test send the emails? The emails that it does send out are good. They just go out really slowly and stop at about 8400. Some others posted comments here (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=195107).Again, does test-sending work? » How to share and edit Microsoft Office files securely over TCP/IP as if on a LAN
I am setting up a small company with a business partner. Both of us work predominantly from our respective homes, many miles apart. We have reached the stage where we need to store our various business documents on a central file server accessible over the Internet. Both of us are PC users running Windows XP. The first key requirement is being able to access our shared files intuitively, quickly and securely, preferably using Windows Explorer. The second requirement is ensuring we do not both attempt to work on the same file at once. We have already looked into hosted solutions such as Microsoft Sharepoint, and online storage offerings from the likes of iDrive and xDrive. All of these fulfil the first requirement, to a greater or lesser ext...... - 2009-07-04

» How did the princesses n the queens used to take care of their beauty?what was their beauty care products?
Depends when you are talking about. From about the 15th through the 18th century, they didn't bathe at all, or maybe once a year, they used lead powder for their faces and wigs, and generally shaved their heads (to avoid lice) and wore wigs, which became increasingly elaborate until they were so tall in the 18th century...well, just look up Marie Antoinette, and you'll get an idea. In the 18th century, women also took drugs, like opiates, to make their eyes dilate and look more beautiful. (ps...lead is a poison...so, not such a great "beauty care product". It ate the skin and caused early death)I don't know so much about makeup, other than it was more natural makeup from plants and herbs. They bathed probably once o...... - 2009-07-04

But i cant say that my works ever done that. Has yours? And what photo was it?It's generally supposed to be a positive thing, although I guess I might feel funny if I thought someone was literally trying to imitate something of mine - as opposed to just liking a process I used and giving it a try on their own. I suppose there can be a fine line between imitation and inspiration. What was your experience, A...... - 2009-07-04
» Why are we having to deal with late satellite imagery?
This is more of a general question, but nowcasting this afternoon's situation it's 2010Z right now and none of the sites, SPC/meso, CoD, NASA/GSFC, has any image later than 1915Z. What's going on here? And shouldn't we be seeing rapid-scan sector data from somewhere every 5 minutes? There's something absurd about having to look at 55-minute old satellite data on a moderate risk day. TimOK, this isn't just another 20-minute outage.. the feed has been down for 75 minutes and GOES-WEST is also an hour behind. There apparently is a major communications problem somewhere... Which one would you recomend for a teenage girl???Definitely GH4 - you'll get a "workout" from playing that way more than Wii Fiit (pun intended).Wow, what a tough question! If you're going for pure fun, Guitar Hero 4 World Tour should be phenomenal. I'm on pins and needles until it comes out--I've never been huge into guitar hero, but the full Rock Band experience really does it for me, and I've been waiting for a better product than Rock Band 1 for Wii to come out. My husband never liked my daughter, resents my grandchildren, and can't stand my son-in-law. My husband and I have been separated off and on over the past 15 months for reasons that are too long and complicated to get into here now. I helped my daughter relocate 1600 miles by helping her with the children, along with my 80-year-old mother's help (I could never do it alone, because I have my own business and work from home). » Author of "Marta", child's story book about small lonely girl lost in woods
I had this book as a child in the early 1970s. I'm pretty sure it was simply called "Marta". It was illustrated in colour, and may have been a translation into English. Marta is the youngest and smallest of several siblings, too small to join in their boisterous games. So she wanders away, and gets lost in the woods, before being rescued. I'd like to know the name of the author of this book, so that I might be able to track down a copy for my own children. It doesn't seem to be in print anywhere. I notice that you use the British spelling of "colour," so would I be correct in assuming that you're not in the United States?Does this book sound right? "Marta, ...... - 2009-07-04

» What would it take for a non BCS Conference School to Play in the BCS Championship?
I know BYU won a National Title like 30 years ago. But in the current BCS; I'm guessing the only way a non BCS conference school like: Utah; Boise St. or Ball State could play for the national title is to have a undefeated season, play in a BCS bowl game, win, come back the next season and remain undefeated (23+ winning streak) with wins over BCS conference teams. Then maybe if all the other BCS schools have at least 1 loss, it could be a possibility. It would take a new system entirely to see a non-BCS school play in the national championship game. A team can't be much better than undefeated (there have been several non-BCS undefeated teams over the years) and seeing as none of those undefeated teams even sniffed the BCS cham...... - 2009-07-04

I need to get a copy of my expired drivers license from Michigan, for sending in as primary identification to get my passport. They keep requesting a copy or "primary" ID, and altho i have provided all 7 alternative forms of identification.. As well as an additional 4 (marriage/divorce records etc) when they requested it after. Still, it seems i need a photo i.d. I did not apply for a drivers license after i moved. How would i go about requesting a copy of the expired drivers license from the DMV? Is it possible? Do i need to hire a PI to do it? » Where Are All The Evertonians?
Where are all the Everton fans on BigSoccer!?!?! Am i the only one? i seem to be the only one posting threads of late....Cmon sort it out!I guess it's quiet 'cause we've escaped the danger of the "relegation zone" and have headed back into the "mediocrity zone" where it's hard to get too exicited (or worried) about the rest of the season.nope, i just think there aren't many fans on here.... there's not much point in posting a thread when only another 2/3 people are gonna bother to read it.Yeah shame though...I'm an Evertonian, Just join then :Pokay, i'll start the singing... » How did Freddy Kruger get his powers?
I haven't seen any of Freddy's movies but I'm a big fan. Anyone know how he got his powers and/or why his' body is covered in weird skin with holes. Did he ever look normal? The story is he is the off spring of a nun that was raped by 100 manics in a insane asylum for three days. He grew up being beaten and abused. He married, and had a daughter. He took, tortured, and killed 50 - 60 small children. He was jailed but before he could go to trail was let go on a technical error. A few parents of the town cornered him in a boiler room, (where he tortured and killed the his victims), and set him afire. In his last moments of life , he made a deal with some demons that he would continue to kill for the souls. They took his so...... - 2009-07-04
» New lens. Medium quality?
Okay we all know for canon lenses there is the "L" series with the red ring. Well they of course are very expensive :P and I recently got a 50mm F/1.4 and its sharpness is amazing. Im sure the 50mm F/1.2L is even more sharp. Anyways, is there a way to look for a lens that is not a poor quality lens (such as kit lens 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6) but also not a pro quality? It seems lots of decent lenses that are not L lenses, are USM. Is it okay to assume most lenses that are USM are somewhat decent in image quality?Okay we all know for canon lenses there is the "L" series with the red ring. » Is tutoring considered community service?
I am tutoring some kids outside of school in math and reading. Would it be considered community service? It is up to what you are doing community service for. If its for school or an organization, most likely so. If its for criminal offenses, you will need to check with probation officer. do you get paid? if so then no, it is a job. It's a service if their grades go up. If their grades went down, you could wind up in a juvenile detention centre. first answer is on the money. If you are getting paid then it is a job. Community Service tutoring is arranged by the school and you are supervised with a record of your hours....... - 2009-07-04

» 66 eight + 132 four + 1011 two = ____eight?
can someone explain how to solve this nerve wrecking problem! i cant answer it! help!!divide 66 by 8 and so on then divid final answer by 8 = 6866^8, 66(8), or 66 with lower right eight? The first, you multiple 66 by itself 8 times, the second, multiply 66 by 8, and the third, eight is your base, so 1=1, 2=2, ... 7=7, 10=8, 11=9, etc. You have to clarify... by BODMAS rule yu must multiply 66&8,132&4,1011&2. Add all three then divide by 8 to get the answerIt looks like this is a problem about adding numbers with different bases. (I see that by the digits, example look at the digits near "two") The solution is to convert all the numbers to a common base (we will use base ten) and then add them. So, 66 eight = 6 + 48 = 54 ten 132 fo...... - 2009-07-04

» Anyone know much about Cosmetic Tattooing??
I am considering doing a cosmetic tattooing course, As I have always wanted to be a tattoo artist, but seeing that the industry is almost impossible to get into, I have decided that Cosmetic Tattooing would be a great place to start and get great practice with a tattoo gun and shading etc, I have found a course that will teach me cosmetic tattooing & supply me with basic equipment, these courses are run out of select beauty college's in Australia (where I live) But they only run for 5-8 days and cost $5000-$10,000 dollars.. you can also do additional day courses to learn how to coverup scarring & add nipples to breast cancer victims etc... Is this a worthwhile career to be putting so much money into and can I really learn the art in 5-...... - 2009-07-04

» No sound on some DVD titles
I`m having a strange problem in that I don`t get sound on some DVD titles. I've had this problem with a few different builds of XBMC, so it doesn`t appear to be related to a bug in anyone specific build, and I`m not sure whether this is a bug at all or simply something it doesn`t do. XBMC has been configured to output digital audio to my decoder, and on the vast majority of titles it is perfectly fine. However, there are the odd handful of titles that I don`t get any sound for. They play fine on my Pioneer DV-333 connected to the same decoder. When I call up the file info in XBMC it tells me that the files have no sound, but from playing them in the Pioneer I know they do. From the status panel on my decoder, it appears that these files ...... - 2009-07-04
» Bogus storm reports probed
Found an interesting article yesterday online. Apparently someone has been sending false storm reports into local NWS offices. http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=617464&format=printMy opinion on that "someone" is: Lock up and throw away the key. It is indeed like calling 112 when there is no emergency (Note: 112 is in Estonia the same as 911 in USA)This is an issue that crops up from time to time with any pubic service department. NOAA is not immune. They must pretty well have the evidence they need to prosecute the case as they've gone public with it. This would be very close to a Volunteer Firefighter starting fires, calling them in just so he can respond. This does happen as well. There was the thread that ran here ...... - 2009-07-04

» NWS Sites down?
Is anyone else having difficulty accessing any NWS site? I'm trying to access Chicago's site and am greeted with a "missing site type" message when I do so.Yeah, I am... thought it was just me. EDIT: Appears to be a problem with CRH only... If you need access to NWS information, COD is a good resource: http://weather.cod.edu/danatext.htmlI was having trouble accessing EAX about that time, but everything seems to be working fine now.It might have been more than CRH. » What are the odds on becoming a pro golfer if you are 12 and shoot 88 89 91 93 86 87?
There's no telling but there's definitely talent out there having those scores!Well, the odds of anyone becoming a pro golfer (who plays on tour) is low. However, it doesn't take a miracle to become good enough to get a PGA card and work in a club. If you're not already doing it, you need to find a good instructor and come up with a game plan. You need hard measurable goals and an instructor can help you get there. Its far too early to tell. Those are decent scores for a twelve yr old depending on the difficulty of the course. But the odds of anyone going pro is poor. Just work hard and get as good as you can get and see what happens.not a very good chanceur chances are really bad..since my bro is 13 and he shoot...... - 2009-07-04
» Plumbing Video Game
I'm thinking of making a plumbing video game. Probably not a big seller, just to tradespeople. Maybe things going wrong on different floors of a building. You buildup points to get different tools/supplies. The more tools/supplies you accumulate-the more things go wrong. :grin-devilish: Maybe incorporate a code studyguide into it as you go. Any other interesting ideas? J.C.Sounds like Pro-Pain in King of the Hill. :)Sounds like Pro-Pain in King of the Hill. :) Not sure exactly what you mean. » How would you feel about this? What would you do?
I'm asking in this section since I'm always here and I'm curious to know what other moms would do although this has nothing to do with parenting. Ok here goes: After I have this baby I plan on losing a lot of weight because I had my kids back to back so I just need to lol. Anyway my husband wants us to have sex with each other while someone is taping us. I don't know how I feel about this and I don't even know who will be taping us. I asked but he was undecided. He also wants to invest in buying me some booty shorts. I feel awkward because I'm going to be trying to breastfeed and plus we're going to have a one year old too. » Would you support a college football playoff, or not, and why?
I would support it but it is never going to happen. I like the idea. College Football now is governed by opinion instead who beats whom. To me the NFL is better b/c anybody can pull an upset. In college ball, that simply isn't enough; you have to be the most highly thought of, not just the best. Having said that, it will never happen. The Bowl system is too corrupt and ingrained in the system. Obama is even trying to take on the BCS but it simply won't happen. If it were up to me, i would make the bowl games the last game of the season, after everyone had played everyone in their division and then have a playoff. All games, would be played in the local stadiums not some preselected site like the Superbowl.Even if there ...... - 2009-07-04

» Quick Easy Question
Hello Everyone, I didn't know what to type to search for this question. The issue i have is with text placement. I have two buttons almost identical except for text. When editing both buttons in Flash they show perfectly where how they should, however when i publish the flash the two buttons plots the text differently, one where it should be the other a few points higher. I have made sure they are both on whole numbers. Any Suggestions? Thanks, MarthaMake sure your text fields are marked as static, not dynamic. That was a little detail that gave me many headaches, that might fix it. Your screenname is extremely funny, by the way. :jailbreak And if you really are Martha Stewart, I never thought you did anything wrong.Hey Dan...... - 2009-07-04

» What is your belief on human rights?
Yeah, I think humans need rights otherwise power hungry people will trample all over the masses in order to gain more power. I also think animals deserve more rights and those that don't think so are arrogant apes. I can't stand those who hunt for sport, what a bunch of punks they are.Human rights are there for every individual to enjoy and to exercise. Unfortunately, these same rights are destroyed, diminished, deprived by humans themselves, either through political antics, interest groups, or muscle power. ...... - 2009-07-04
